After a Relaxing Week, Clara Hughes and her Big Ride Team is Back in Action in British Columbia by

Journal Notes

After a fairly slow and relaxing week in the territories where Clara Hughes had a lot of time in certain cities of Northern Canada, the Olympics Cycling and Skating Champion is back in action with her team resuming her Big Ride from the west in Victoria, the capital of this western province. British Columbia being the most western province of Canada, Clara is now spreading the word for reducing the stigma surrounding mental health in western Canada and will be working her way back to Ontario where she started her Big Ride just over two months ago.

The skating and cycling champion along with her Bell Let’s Talk Big Ride team will be arriving in the beautiful city of Victoria on May 15th at 3 p.m. They will be welcomed by thousands lining the streets and rallying together for her arrival at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia on Belleville Street in the heart of the capital city. She will join the Lieutenant Governor of the province in the ceremonious cutting of a ribbon to welcome her to the city and province.

At 7:30 p.m. Clara Hughes will make her way to the Victoria Public Market for wine tasting and small appetizers. This event will be hosted by the Bipolar Babes Team. This team of devoted woman is all about Clara’s goals and ambitions about mental health and their group motto is “stomping out stigma”. Just like the population of the beautiful city, they are all very excited to meet with the Canada sport icon Clara, and the night event will be fittingly called “Hats off to Clara”. The party will be hat themed and is scheduled to finish at 9:30 p.m.
