The team of Bell Let’s Talk cycling champions led by Clara Hughes will travel to the town of Gander, Newfoundland, on April 24th. Clara does not have any welcome event planned for this stop in Eastern Canada, but is expected to arrive in the city just passed lunch time and meet with the many fans that are anticipating her arrival.

She will also meet with the community champion, Peggy Blake, for this stop upon her arrival. Peggy Blake is the executive director of the Military Family Services Program. She plans to ride along side the Olympic cycling champion and her team when she arrives in the downtown core of Gander.

From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Clara Hughes will be the keynote speaker of a special free evening event at the 9 Wing Gander All Ranks Mess Building on Dobbin Drive. This military base is extremely well known world wide. It is home to ground breaking technology and strategies, but more importantly, it is also known for its role in aiding the hundreds of displaced planes during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York, United States of America.

The town of Gander is situated in heart of Newfoundland and composed of many natural and tourist attractions. With a population of about 11,000 this small town is full of lively locals and beautiful areas. These beautiful locations include the Cobb’s Pond Rotary Park, Little Harbour Marina, Peacekeeper Park, Demonstration Forest, Terra Nova National Park and the Kittiwake Coast.
