Journal Notes

Clara Hughes and her Bell Let’s Talk cycling team of champions started her week off at the end of April in the glorious province of Newfoundland. After making a short stop in Québec to catch a small biplane to the territories, her and her team travelled by bike once more in the beautiful and cool territory of Nunavut.

On May 1st, Clara took a resting day in the town of Kuujjuaq, Québec. After this well deserved resting day for her muscles and mind, Clara was ready to board a small plane to the territories. Clara’s visit in Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut, on May 2nd, included a special outdoor concert and many energizing speeches.

Clara will be doing a lot of travelling in the territories of Canada for a fairly short period of time before making her way to the west coast of Canada to meet with champions of all sorts in British-Columbia making her way back to Eastern Canada.

On May 3rd, Clara visited Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, and Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories. In Rankin Inlet, she will visit the community center and meet with hundreds of fans for her second and last Nunavut visit. In the city of Yellowknife later on the 3rd (at around 4 p.m.), Clara and her team cycled around the capital after arriving at the Yellowknife airport by plane.

Clara will visit several small places in the next few days before making an official stop in the city of Inuvik, Northwest Territories, on May 6th. The team will make their way to the capital of Yukon, Whitehorse, for May 12th and stay there until May 14th. Once there, they will travel by plane yet again to Victoria British-Columbia, another capital city, on May 15th.
