Best Beaches: Whitehaven, it really is heaven! by

Journal Notes

So, you think you've found a good beach. You see the movie 'The Beach' and think to yourself "yeah, I've so found a place better than that". It' a beach so good you'd think to see red carpet celebrities strolling around ordering obscenely expensive cocktails with a personal servant in toe. Well, I found such a place, but without all the pressures of social status as baggage.

Whitehaven Beach is the most visited beach in the Whitsunday group of islands off the coast of Australia, and for good reason. Once arriving on your choice of boats departing from the mainland, you are instantly awestruck by the awesome beauty of the location you've landed upon. Crystal blue waters, snow-white sands, and green, lush rainforest await you in this true remote, tropical paradise. The best thing is, it's a national park, and is protected to ensure it's beauty is still there for you to go enjoy when you make the voyage down-under. Activities to indulge include snorkelling, hiking, swimming, diving and boating. Being in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef, beautiful corals and fish are not difficult to find.

It's just another beauty in the eye that is Australia. If you haven't yet been, be sure to have it on your bucket list. You won't be disappointed.
