Clara Hughes will be arriving in the town of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada today April 7th, 2014. Woodstock is located about thirty kilometers from the border of Maine in the United States. This small town has a population of 5,000 and an area of about twenty square kilometers, however, as small as this may seem, it has several beautiful places full of things to do.

Woodstock is known for its art and culture districts, but especially for its abundance of farms and farmers markets. In the heart of the Carleton Maritimes, this region is rich in agriculture. Farms and markets in the region include Woodstock Farm and Craft Market, Hilltop Market, Grafton Bridge Market, Strawberry Hill Farm, Back Acre Farm, Dukeshire Apples and Haynes Berry Farm. The village also offers several outdoor activities that include walking, biking and hiking on the trails of the region, water sports, camping, marine life, including whale watching and zip lines.

Clara Hughes will host a silent auction and wine and cheese tasting in the village at the Best Western Plus, 123 Gallop Ct, Woodstock. She will also make a stop at the Woodstock College to meet the students and staff of the school. The community champion of Woodstock, New Brunswick, is Chelsey Nicholson. Ms. Nicholson is a community worker in the region for the Canadian Association of Mental Health in New Brunswick and includes Woodstock and its surrounding areas.
