First Taste - VooDoo BBQ & Grill by

Journal Notes

Last night I had the pleasure of trying out another new spot on "Fat Kid Corner". This time it was VooDoo BBQ & Grill. And I must say, I'm impressed!! I can't lie, I was skeptical and hesitant. In my mind, it's not a real bbq place without a giant pit somewhere, but I might be wrong on that one.

I ordered the (small) pulled pork sandwich, and I'm glad I only did the small. There was so much meat on that bun! It was literally falling out. And the pork was so tender and juicy. You can taste a smoky flavor in the meat. Mouth watering!!

The pulled pork pretty much comes naked so you can dress it up how you like. I drowned mines in the MoJo sauce because to me the word "tangy" is the same as "spicy" when it comes to barbecue sauce. After tasting all three, I found my little system of judgement was correct!

My friend had ribs. And since she NEVER finishes her food, I totally stole one. OMG, they were "fall off the bone" awesome!! It's been a very long time since I had ribs that were that tender and tasty. I'm talking years.

I'm looking forward to going back and tasting the corn pudding (fries seemed right that day) and a dessert. Mardi Gras Cheesecake sounds rather interesting...
