Welcome to our March edition of Alpha Insights. In this edition we are very excited to announce the release of a couple new Dream & Goal Setting Tools that we are sure will please you and anyone else you care to share it with.

Whether you are a parent, teacher, a team leader, principal or president, these tools will make setting Dreams and Goals easy and fun. We believe they will be appreciated by everyone and can be used and put into practice by any one, and at almost any age.

Before I go into the details of these new tools, I think it is important that we review our Alpha Trademark and Slogan of Dream It... Live It... Preserve It!!!® and how we came up with it.

It all started with the fact that we are strong believers that, A Goal is Created THREE Times:

First - when you "Dream It", as a mental picture, an idea or thought in your mind!
Second - is when you write it down to add clarity and dimension to your dream!
Third - is when you "Live It" and start to take action toward its achievement!

We simply also believe that all good dreams that you take action on and accomplish should also be shared with others. This can encourage them to try things that they might otherwise be afraid to try or, to simply ask about. That is why we also like to say "Preserve It".

That said, here are the 2 new Dream and Goal Setting Tools we are so excited about:

As most of you are aware of, we already have our 411 Dream Search tool to help people search out main results to help them take action towards the achievement of their goals. We have just completed 1) "Alpha Dream and Goal Accomplishment Blueprint" and 2) the 11 Step Accompanying Workbook.

In the Blueprint we review the 11 Easy Steps to help everyone Clearly Define their Ultimate Dreams and Goals.

Tips for Teenagers

Teenagers may be young, but they need to look after their health just as anyone else does. A number of tips regarding nutrition can keep them on the right track.

Drinking lots of water is good for everyone, including teens. Drinking water has been shown to be connected to losing weight (or maintaining current weight) and, of course, will also keep teens feeling energized and refreshed.

Teens might be surprised to know that getting enough sleep is also linked to nutrition. Sleeping provides you with energy but also has an impact on how you eat; studies show a connection between overeating and not getting enough sleep.

Perhaps the single-most important part of nutrition is fiber, which offers energy while also making you feel full without making you fill out. Simply eating a lot of food is not the right solution. Eating something packed with fiber is much better for satisfying your hunger and improving your health and weight.

Have you ever noticed how we are all encouraged to Dream until we are in 5th grade, and then we are told that it is time to get serious.

We think that this is just terrible, and everyone should start dreaming again now and never stop.

We believe that it is always a good time to "Re-Create or Adjust" the vision of whom anyone may want to be, and then to simply start taking action! By using our Alpha Dream and Goal setting Tools, this has never been easier and more fun!

Commitment Required

Perhaps the most important thing to remember when trying to lose weight or adopt a healthier lifestyle is the necessity of commitment. Healthy living encompasses all aspect of life, from the mental to the physical and even to the financial. You need to be fully committed to yourself and to a lifelong journey of learning about your body and you. Following a few simple tips can help you on this journey.
One good tip is to make the commitment to be in this for the long haul and to accept the fact that there will be both good and bad days along the way.

Another good tip is to keep a food journal that lists everything you consume. You can use it to examine your strong points and your weakness when it comes to your diet.

You also should drink about eight 8-ounce cups of water every day. Plus you should exercise for at least fifteen minutes per day, at least three days out of the week, and try to increase both the minutes and the days as exercise becomes easier and more routine.

Achieving Family Bliss

Routines play a large part in a successful and happy family life, and a number of hints can be followed to achieve just this.

Drawing boundaries, sticking to your routines And making the effort to have "family time" are crucial tips. One of the most important routines a family can follow is eating a quiet dinner together, so family members can catch up on what has been happening in their lives.

Teaching children about responsibility and the consequences of bad behavior, including irresponsibility, is also very important. Another big tip for family unity is that every family member must always be willing to pitch in and lend a hand if another is in need of some kind of assistance. This community helpfulness can include extended family members, which really can bring about the feeling of having one big, happy family.
Get Past the Roadblocks to Creative Concepts

Sometimes the ideas just don't come. You don't have to be a cartoonist or a novelist to need a fresh supply of ideas every day; every job calls on us to find creative solutions from time to time. When you're not feeling the magic, look for these common causes behind "imagination block":
Inside the box thinking. You may be looking for familiar solutions to the same old problems. Get into the habit of questioning all your assumptions and looking at situations from different angles. For instance, instead of asking, "How can we sell this product to our customers?" try, "What would make a customer reject this product?" and build your solution around eliminating that objection.
Fear of . . . Maybe you're afraid of failure. Or the commitment a solution might call for. Or perhaps you're aware that the best idea will require you to do things you're not comfortable with. Confront your fears head on, and identify why they're paralyzing you. Most of the time you can overcome them if you break them down into manageable elements.
Lack of knowledge. Take a good look at your subject. If it's unfamiliar, you may not know enough of the details to generate any relevant ideas. Do more homework. Or if you're casting about for a completely new idea, devote time to studying something outside your usual area of expertise without looking for a flash of inspiration. Often, exploring a new field will generate unexpected connections.
Overabundance. Sometimes the problem is that you've got so many partial ideas that you can't choose just one to develop. Try picking one at random and working on that alone until you've either got a solid project or you reject it for being unworkable. Or step back and look at your priorities so you can choose the option that suits your needs best.

Inspiration to Quit Smoking

While the health risks that are so closely associated with smoking are very well known today, that may not make it any easier to actually give up the habit. Even those who are serious about quitting often find that they are in need of some instruction and a little bit of inspiration in order to achieve their goal of removing smoking from their lives.

While you are trying to quit, you should eat plenty of fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables. Foods that are low in calories, healthy and natural can be very helpful when giving up smoking, both because they provide your hands and mouth with an alternative task to perform and because they can prevent the weight gain that would ensue if you consumed other foodstuffs instead. Plus, these foods contain vitamins and minerals that can provide some relief from the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Lots of rest is also helpful when trying to give up smoking. A lot of ex-smokers stay up late, which only increases their tendency toward cravings. A restful night with eight hours of sleep will make you more mentally acute and give you that extra willpower you need to beat your cravings.
