Hello everyone and welcome to our July edition of Alpha Insights.
A few days ago on June 21st, we welcomed summer here in the
northern Hemisphere. For many, this date sets the mind
thinking of summer vacations and adventures that you will take
with family and friends. It also marks the time that most people
start enjoying all the wonderful activities that can be more fully
enjoyed during these beautiful warm weather months.
I, for one, pulled out my bike last weekend for the first time in several months, and just biking for 2 straight days was enough to make my backside feel as sore as though I had not been in the saddle for years… (Personal note to self – Not just Elliptical and Stairmaster, but also keep biking in the gym during winter months
For many people, it is also a time to start and try new things, sports, activities, etc. For others, like myself, it is a time to switch up their routines from what they normally do during the winter. Whether you are on summer break from school or taking the long awaited summer vacation that you have been accumulating days for at work; most of you will be away from your structured lifestyles of regular gym time and exercise regiments that are offered either at school or your Wellness Programs provided at work.
Summer may also be what many of you have been waiting for to get back into some healthy lifestyle habits. Either way, we thought it would be a good idea to go over and review all the components involved in… The Habit of Healthy:
The Habit of being and thinking Healthy can be focusing on only one thing for many people; however, it is important to consider that there are indeed a number of factors that revolve around the well-balanced lifestyle of a Healthy Person.
However, Healthy Habits are not something you pick up today and forget about tomorrow. Health and Wellness is an all year long Habit. It is a lifestyle. It is something that you practice every day, and that is why we are calling it the Habit of Healthy!
